Maps and Directions to UMD College Park

  • By Car    
    • To the Meeting Site: Follow the instructions given here, or the directions of Google Maps to the Regents Drive Parking Garage. This Garage is across Stadium Drive from the Physical Sciences Complex.      
    • To the Meeting Hotel: Follow the directions of Google Maps to the Cambria Hotel College Park Garage. This Garage is just behind the Hotel. 
  • By MetroBus    
    • The 83 and C2 MetroBus routes stop near the hotel and serve the UMD campus on Saturdays; the C2 also stops at the Physical Sciences Center. In the evenings, UMD campus shuttle 117 also stops around the corner from the hotel.   
  • Metro:           
    • The College Park - U of Md Metro Station is on the Yellow and Green Lines. Exit through the east side of the station and take the elevator to street level.
    • The UMD Shuttle leaves from Bus Bay E every 15 or 30 minutes, depending on the time of day. Note that the departure times of the shuttles are not exact; be prepared for them to potentially leave a few minutes early or late, and plan accordingly to allow for that margin of error.   • A block of hotel rooms at a reduced rate of 149.00 dollars + 13 per cent tax = 168.37 dollars/night (for both 1 King and 2 Queen rooms) is available for the nights of Friday, October 20, 2023 and Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Cambria Hotel College Park, a 15-minute walk to the Physical Sciences Complex.  

    Note: The non-refundable rate may be lower so please check discount travel sites.   
  • The cutoff date to reserve rooms at this rate is midnight of Tuesday, September 5, 2023. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLY CUTOFF DATE!          
  • Breakfast is NOT included in this rate. (Continental breakfast will be available at the Meeting Site on Saturday morning.)          
  • There is also an additional charge of 6.00 dollars + 13 per cent tax = 6.78 dollars/day (reduced from 12 dollars + 13 per cent tax = 13.56 dollars/day) for parking

Lodging Support Program :

  • We have limited funds to provide lodging support to high school teachers of up to $175/night at the Cambria Hotel College Park for the nights of Friday, October 20, 2023 and Saturday, October 21, 2023.         
  • Please DO NOT inquire the hotel about this support! People receiving this support must make a reservation at the hotel using the link provided above and pay the hotel first, and then submit the hotel receipt to us. A check will be mailed to you later.          
  • To apply, indicate the number of nights you would like to request support for in the registration form, and also fill in the requested information. The deadline to apply for this support is midnight of Friday, September 1, 2023. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLY DEADLINE! The application section on the registration form will be deactivated after this date.          
  • People selected for support will be notified by Monday, September 4, 2023, in time to take advantage of the CSAAPT group rate at the Cambria Hotel College Park, the cutoff date for which is Tuesday, September 5, 2023.         
  • Preference will be given to high school teachers who are presenting a talk or demo, those who must travel long distance to reach the Meeting site, and those who are CSAAPT members.         
  • If you are selected to receive this support, you will be requested to provide the following:         

    • A copy of your School ID which proves that you are a current high school physics teacher         
    • A copy of the detailed receipt from the hotel         
  • A check will be mailed to you after the meeting from one of our supporting institutions.
